We’d like to thank our event sponsors Meridian Credit Union, and Councillor Keith Egli: who's contributions allowed us to bring the entertainment to our community free of charge. Special thanks to , , Compassionate Rabbit Baking, and Calabogie Brewing Company and Metro Greenbank for their contributions to our food and beverage offerings.
And a HUGE thank you to all of our TACA Executive and Volunteers without whom this event would not have been possible. So much went into the planning, the setup and tear down, decor, ticket sales, food and beverage service, craft station, glitter tattoos and fireworks show!
Our association is happy to serve our wonderful community, but we run on volunteer power and donations. To continue to develop and thrive and put on more events in the future we need you! Please consider supporting TACA by volunteering and/or making a donation.

ECOLOGY OTTAWA - TREE GIVEAWAY
ECOLOGY OTTAWA - TREE GIVEAWAY
TACA is very proud to be partnering with Ecology Ottawa to host one of their Tree Giveaway events, which will be held at the Trend Arlington Community Centre on Saturday May 7 (1000-1300). The Tree Campaign is about more than putting trees in the ground. It’s also about engaging residents and public organizations to help nurture a greener community, a greener Ottawa, and a greener future together.
Ecology Ottawa Tree Giveaway Calendar
Residents may recall that Ecology Ottawa was instrumental in providing guidance and support when Trend Arlington planted hundreds of white pine seedlings in 2019/2020 - an initiative spearheaded by local resident James O'Grady. With this new Tree Campaign, local residents will be able to take home a wide variety of seedlings (coniferous and deciduous) as well as instructions for planting and maintenance from Ecology Ottawa staff.
Spring Things
"SPRING THINGS" IS THIS WEEKEND
We're getting the final details in place for this weekend's first-ever SPRING THINGS event, an exciting day filled with outdoor activities to welcome all things SPRING! Just in time for Earth Day, and part of TACA's recognition of 2022 as the Year of the Garden, we hope to see you out and about in Trend Arlington for a celebration of community spirit!
SPRING THINGS takes place Saturday April 23rd from 8:00am - 3:00pm, with events and activities taking place across the neighbourhood. We'll be sending out another email on Thursday April 21 with a detailed event schedule and map, but here's a sneak peek of the day.
First up are the Neighbourhood Garage Sales (8am - 12pm) happening in driveways and front yards across the community. As of today we've got X garage sales happening. A detailed map will be issued Thursday, as well as a breakdown of who's selling what!
Over at the Trend Arlington Community Centre, there will be different things happening throughout the day. TACA will be hosting its own TACA Garage Sale + Bake Sale Fundraiser (9am - 12pm) to help raise funds for our community association's annual operations. And while you're there, be sure to check out our Garden Preparation + Seed Giveaway (9am - 12pm), to help us get our own community centre garden ready, while taking home some seeds for your own garden.
If all this shopping and gardening gets you hungry, then you've come to the right place. Come on down to the Trend Arlington Community Centre and join us for our Lunchtime Concerts (11am - 1pm), feating some mouthwatering BBQ from our very own Fitz' BBQ. Be sure to check out some local music with Trend Arlington's Mark Nyvlt playing from 11am - 12pm, and the local trio of Sean Devine, Bill Brown and Matt Kennedy playing from 12pm - 1pm.
Then, it's time to work off that lunch with our annual Cleaning the Capital (1pm - 3pm), where you can sign up to tidy up your very own section of Trend Arlington.
There's still plenty of ways that you can participate in this amazing event:
